Classical Range 18cm Copper Lid with Cast Iron Handle

I inherited a beautiful Falk 18cm saucepan from a dear friend, but it didn't have a lid. I was a bit concerned as to whether a new lid would be a good fit, as the saucepan was more than 20 years old. However, I should have known I had nothing to worry about. The new lid fits my saucepan perfectly! Wonderful Falk service, as usual. :)

Why should you be excited? It's a proper, traditional lid with no steam hole.

If I'm bringing something to the boil, I can shift the lid slightly to stop it rattling or foaming over.

It looks beautiful, like all Falk items.

Like the pans, these lids are an investment - accept no substitute! (You might've guessed, I really like mine)

Why only 99%? It would be 100% if it was transparent! Current science doesn't allow for that, unfortunately.

I am absolutely delighted with the lid I bought for my 18cm saucier pan which also fits my 18cm sugar pan.The fit is perfect and while the handle will heat up, this isn't a problem, I am used to using a tea towel, oven glove 9r potholder when cooking.

I look forward to being able to use my saucier pan as a "cooker top to oven" item, with the addition of the lid. Being, a deux, with hubby, now the chicks have flown the nest, I find 18cm is just right for two.

I adore the controllability of heat with my copper pans, especially when making caramel, conserves and sauces or scrambled eggs.

. . . and, hey, they look good displayed in my kitchen! I found a copper rail with copper S hooks and appropriate wall fittings on Etsy! Happy Days 😀

"Nice lid"

I purchased the try-me offer a while back and didn't think I need this lid (as it is quite expensive for a lid). But I couldn't find anything that fits quite good with my saucier pan and decided to buy one. It is a really nice lid that matches the pan perfectly - functionally and aesthetically. I am really pleased about it and questioning myself why I didn't order it together with the pan at the first place.

So for someone who is considering purchasing the try-me offer (or any other pan) out there, I would suggest to buy the lid together with your pan, saving the postage you would need to pay if you purchase the lid separately later.
